As promised in my blog post earlier this week on "Flying through the Perth CBD", I interviewed Edwin Water to find out more about his cool Perth Racer, an interactive 3D model of the Perth CBD.

Perth Racer is an interactive 3D model of the Perth CBD, users can explore the 3D model by driving and flying throughout the city.

Later this week I will have a treat in store for readers of Perth Walkabout.

As we all know, interactive 3D models have come a long way over the last decade or so. Interactive 3D models are developed using sophisticated spatial technology, and are a fantastic way to model all sorts of things, from beautiful landscape features to fun, animated characters.

If you have dreams to visit your favourite city in the world, but don’t have the opportunity to visit it in person, the next best thing might be to explore a city virtually by way of an interactive 3D model.

Stay tuned later this week when I will post my interview with Edwin Waters at Perth Racer on how and why he commissioned such a model for our beautiful city of Perth.
