Perth
Weather
Perth,
the capital of Western Australia, is one of the windiest cities
in the world, where the weather is beaut (most of the time), so
as a visitor, anytime really is a good time to visit Perth!
Perth
boasts the most hours of sunshine of all the capital cities in Australia.
With its Mediterranean style climate, locals take advantage of the
outdoors at every opportunity. With our relaxed, casual lifestyle,
especially during summer time, we can be found dining alfresco at
local cafe hangouts, catching a Sunday session at an outdoor beer
garden, watching an outdoor movie, cooling off at the beach during
heatwaves, or having a barbeque ("barbie") or picnic at
one of many picturesque settings by the Swan River.
Being
in the Southern Hemisphere, Perth has the following seasons:
Summer
- December to February
Autumn - March to May
Winter
- June to August
Spring
- September to November
Perth
average annual
temperatures range from 12°C to 24°C. During winter, average
annual temperatures can range from 7°C to 18°C and during
summer the annual temperatures can range from 16°C to 31°C.
With our long and hot summers, the heat can be turned up to over
40°C heat. Luckily,
in the summer months, the Fremantle ("Freo") Doctor may
come to the assistance by blowing ocean winds in the afternoon across
the city to cool it off.
