Trigg Beach

Trigg Beach

Perth is renown for its sparkling and white sandy beaches along the Sunset Coast north of Perth. The Sunset Coast stretches from Cottesloe all the way up the coast to Two Rocks.

Travelling along Sunset Coast, there are plenty of beaches to choose from depending on your interests. Swimmers tend to frequent beaches like Cottesloe, Floreat, City Beach and Scarborough Beach, or Swanbourne Beach if you are a nudist! And snorkellers can be found at the very popular Mettam's Pool north of Trigg Island which forms part of the Marmion Marine Park.

Access to Trigg Beach is off West Coast Drive. The Trigg Beach is a popular spot for surfboard riders and body boarders catching a wave or two. Trigg Beach lays claim to the most consistent surf breaks amongst the Sunset Coast beaches. The area between flags is safer for swimming as it marks the stretch of beach patrolled by lifeguard volunteers from the Trigg Island Surf Life Saving Club.

Sunset at Trigg Beach

Trigg Beach is a great spot to watch spectacular sunsets over the Indian Ocean throughout the year. There are park grounds just off Trigg Beach at Clarko Reserve with BBQ facilities for picnicking. Clarko Reserve is located at the end of Karrinyup Road.

The shared path which runs adjacent to the West Coast Highway is popular for walking, jogging, biking and roller blading.

For those who prefer to stay on land, head opposite Trigg Beach inland to the Trigg Bushland Reserve for a walk. Bushwalkers may also be interested to explore the Scarborough Trigg Heritage Walk.

How to get there

Access to Trigg Beach is off West Coast Highway. Heading north along the West Coast Highway, turn off left at West Coast Drive. If travelling by car, there are several Trigg car park areas to choose from.
