The Perth Walkabout Monthly Wrap is published at the start of each month to provide a snapshot of articles that hit the headlines in the last 4 weeks.

Here is Perth Walkabout's Monthly Wrap for the month of May:

Head for the Hills in Perth

Let’s face it; Perth is a very flat city in what you would consider a relatively flat state so we tend to get a bit excited about any type of bump in the landscape.
The Perth Hills along the Darling Range make a welcome change from the coastal plain and for visitors; they offer the opportunity to see the city from a slightly different perspective.

An Insider’s Guide to Applecross Village

I am one of those people who are lucky enough to live in Applecross.  It is the best location in Perth, and I love being a 15 minute train and walk from the city, a 30 minute bus ride to Fremantle and five minutes from the river. But one of the best things about living in Applecross is the wonderful fact that I am within walking distance to Applecross Village on Ardross Street.

Six Unique Perth Attractions for your Bucket List

Perth is so much more than just a stopover city and offers some of the very best attractions Australia has to offer, without the crowds of Sydney and Melbourne. Sure, you can still explore the usual restaurants, tours and attractions but why not make your trip so much more fulfilling by adding a few unusual activities to your schedule;

Walking with the Gormley Statues on Lake Ballard

The legendary artist, sculptor, and modern designer has struck again. Anthony Gormley has caused another stir, but this time in Western Australia. His eerie mark on the salt flats of Lake Ballard not far from the Western Australian town of Menzies attracts thousands of contemporary art lovers every year and is sure to continue to do so into the future.

Breakfast, Op-Shops, Markets…Freo!

I like to go out for breakfast on Saturday mornings. It’s usually the only morning that I get off on a week. I had been out with a friend on Friday night in Freo, and it was only fitting that I ventured back for breakfast. Surely such a good night out could be followed by a fabulous breakfast?

The '30 Something Guide to Perth Nightlife - Bars and Cocktail Lounges

Perth is great. We both know that, and that is why you are here right now reading about all of the fantastic things that it has to offer.

As I near the big ‘three-oh’, I am finding that I am not so keen on the club scene anymore. Frankly, I’d rather be in bed, or having a nice glass of red on the couch watching ‘Full House’ re-runs.

So, here I will guide those who feel the same to some of my favourite bars and cocktail lounges in Perth that will make you feel just right.

Where to Buy Locally Produced Food in Perth

Are you wanting to buy local and searching for locally sourced products in Perth?
Many people are becoming more conscientious about how their food was grown or raised, but another, arguably more important, factor to consider is where the food comes from.
I’ve compiled a list of some of the places around Perth where you can find locally sourced products to help you get started.

Book Review: Great Australian Pubs by Lee Mylne

If you’re a history and cultural buff who is planning a trip to Australia, you’ll probably be itching to add a good Australian book or two to your collection to whet your appetite. There are many to choose from, but which ones are worth carrying around in your luggage?

“Great Australian Pubs” by Lee MyIne is an informative and highly entertaining Guide book on the Top 100 Pubs in Australia.

Stay tuned to Perth Walkabout to explore our beautiful city of Perth.
